sweet sounds last night , the showman was a beast Ryan,

great show by all 3 bands, and cool town and venue.

Patrick of the Maderia is the sound guy, and his wife is the booker there.

Hope for many more shows there.

Thanks Jeff! And thanks for making the trek down south. We really appreciate it. Hope you're not too burned from your San Dieg/Riverside trips this past week.

Yeah, it was very cool meeting Patrick from the Madeira because I'm a huge fan of that band. Really nice guy. Small world.

Ryan sweet photos!!! I have to tell ya I spoke to Jason Lee on Monday and he told me about how the show went on Saturday he was also saying how killer your Showman sounded and that he was impressed, he was asking me about the Showman and I told him it's a tone machine 85watts of pure Fender tone! Jason is thinking about a Showman head Idea I told him to check Ebay every now and then.

Thanks Kyle. Rad. Jason Lee is a really nice cat. We got on very well. He was showing me his reverb tank mods before the show (Cap switch in place of the tank footswitch, etc).

Yeah, Jason should feel right at home with a Showman cuz those catz push some dbs Smile I'll tell ya man, ever since I got mine, it has absolutely transformed my playing. I don't know what it is. It really helped to fine tune the sound I want. That, and those Webers!! Thanks again for turning me on to those speakrs.

I was realllllllly impressed with your tone when we jamed @ HBISM
it's just amazing how much the right speakers and amp can do, every sinlge note rings out with just the right presence and tight bass and sparkle
you have a winner in your Showman!

Thanks Kyle. I really appreciate the kind words. Your Bandy's tone is just to die for though. Easily the best one I've heard; that and Rick's (my old bandmate from Surf Report) '64 blondie.

Thanks bro! my '62 Bandmaster has the tone I have been searching for the best amp I have ever owned, I love my Showmans but The Bandmaster has become my main amp and the vibrato is just so amazing
and what's crazy that my Bandy is as loud as my Showmans @ 4 on the volume with no break up at all, this bandy has the bigger output tranny that could explain the louder clean tone and beef, no mods all stock
the tubes I'm using are TAD aka "Tube Amp Doctor" small bottle 6L6 "5881" style and for the pre amp section I use 6 JJ 12AX7's

Here's this one on Ebay same as mine but an early '63

What tubes are using in your Showman?

Sharp lookin' group. I like the "Samaurized" bass drum graphic on Duff's Slingerland kit. Wink Nice little detail!

Kyle,
I have a hodge podge for tubes right now, what the amp came with. The 6L6s are hard to determine because the paint has wiped off on all of them. One of them has an old 'Fender Musical Instruments' logo on it. I believe one to be a JAN Phillips because I can see some resident green writing. They're definitely old though. The preamps include a GE, Sylvania, and another one I can't make out.

I think its definitely time for a re-tube though cuz I just pulled two of the 6L6s out, put them back in and when I turned off the stand-by switch, "sizzle, sizzle, smoke, smoke". Nice, huh? I'm going to do a full retube. TAD 6L6s and JJ preamps. Will 12AX7s work in the 7025 spots?

WebSurfer:
Thanks man. Yeah, Duff put that kick drum cover on just for our set. Pretty cool huh?

Oh man sizzle sizzle smoke smoke is not good have your tech give it a good tune up,
7025 is basicaly a 12AX7

Once your Showman is tuned up brand new tubes it's going to sound even more killer Rock
