I got mine yesterday. Great stuff. What is the last song, Special? Never heard that before, obviously Wronski is playing lead.

"Special" is a cover of a song by Shirley Manson and Garbage. It's done instrumental justice here by Dave's exceptional lead arrangement. This was recorded at a concert in Finland. I wanted to work this tune up as a surf instro for our European audiences on that tour. I thought it was one of the jewels of the set list at the time, mainly due to Wronski's fret work (underscored by Dusty's drums and Pete's bass work!!).

Hi John,
Great news about this CD re-issue... BUT isnt it about time the other Nightriders Lps were reissued on CD?!!
I remember probably something like 20 years ago you told me, if I remember correctly, that you dont personally own the master tapes to these albums... Does that mean that it is soley up to the record company concerned whether a reissue is granted or would you have some influence in the matter?
Do you know of any further Nightrider reissue projects, would you like to get all the material out there again?

Oh, of course! I guess it says that in the liner notes. I can't believe how surfy that sounds, more SoCal that Scotland. That CD is a real treat.

Mrski,
I don't own the rights to all of the J&TNs' 80s releases. Several record companies were involved, both US and overseas, and nearly all of them are now out of business (rights don't revert to me when that happens). So, it's not an easy proposition to simply release "the other Nightriders' LPs." That said, plans ARE afoot to.....well, stay tuned.
