Hey surf junkies! This is Lordmerciless from the band, Monster Zero. After a 7 year hiatus, we are performing this weekend, 10.27.07, at the haunted Boulder City Hotel, just outside of Las Vegas, with Apollo 14.
I formed this band in Long Beach, CA in 1996 with my brother, Spaz, on drums. Our big Daddy-O is Steve Leonard from the Pyramids so this stuff runs in our blood. We started out doing heavy instros a la ManOrAstroMan, but have since leaned more towards the vocal side. I see us as a mix of Devo/OingoBoingo/ManOrAstroMan??? We still have the poppin' reverb tanks and about a 3rd of our set is instumental.
We are now in Las Vegas and have a MySpace page and cd.

We are once again booking shows and writing new material for an upcoming cd.
Check us out. Gracias!

Hey Kevin,
Jeff here, I used to see you at the Surf Museum and the Doll Hut alot back in 97 to 99.
and I saw the show at the House of Blues where your dad and the other Pyramids got up to play with you.
kinda bummed to hear that you started doing vocals, but glad to hear you still do a few instros.
Have a great show.

Hey fellas. Yeah Ted, we played with you guys at a place called the Wet Stop across from UNLV. I still have photos! I wanted to see you guys when you just played here, but forget what else I had to do. Hopefully next time.
Take Care.

Hey Big Tiki Dude! If I saw you, I'd probably remember you. We loved playing at the Surf Museum. I think our first gig was there. As a band now, we are a mostly a vocal band, but if the "right" kind of gig came up, we could definitely bust out a good hour long set of instros which would include originals, Pyramids, Ventures, etc.
Adios.

Hi Jeff. We would love to play back down in So Cal. Are bands still playing in the parking lot of the HB Surf Museum? The last time I spoke to Rob he said he wanted to do a show with MZ and Dynotones, but MZ wasn't ready at the time. We can defintiely do a solid 45 minute set of instros if needed.

Hey LM,
yeah the bands still play at the Museum parking Lot, but its only April to Oct. and skip weekends now. And then there are 3 big shows with 5 or 6 bands at the HB pier.
send me a e-mail at bigtikidude@yahoo.com if you do come out for a weekend of shows here, and I'll put in a good word for you guys to do a show at the Museum.

Cool. Thanks Jeff. We played our 1st show in 7 years last weekend as Monster Zero, ending a scorching set with an encore of "Pyramid Stomp".
I'll have to send you a vhs copy of us playing at my daughter's 1st B-Day party in June 2007. We did all instros which started with us playing 4 Pyramids tunes with my Pops...
Pyramid Stomp
Bikini Drag
Contact
Penetration
Then our bass player came up and we started "our" set with "Midnight Run"
Good Times!
