The thing about band-names is that they only matter to people who haven't heard you. Once they have, they just accept whatever you are called as being you. A lot of famous band names are really pretty crappy if you actually think about them. I'd think twice about using "Dead" in any language or you could get confused with that whole thing and there are plenty of tribute bands using that word. |

Best. Link. Ever. So far my favorite suggestions have been Sal Johnson & the Silver Ganja Incident, Order Of The Shaved Usher, and Linda Manlove & the Turgid Cylons. If I saw any of those on a marquee, I'd totally buy a ticket. -Warren —That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it. |

Unless you are from Mexico or Spain, I can't see the advantage of a Spanish name over one with Surf in the title. Even though Spanish names are pretty cool for surf bands, if I saw that Los Muertos was going to be appearing I would first think it's probably a Tejano or Mariachi group? I mean, I like that music, but does that describe what your band is about? dimxl, if you were more of a surf instro band, how about "The Red Herrings"? |

2websurfer - dimxl, if you were more of a surf instro band, how about "The Red Herrings"? This name reminds me of "Red Elvises" ... so l want to avoid word RED in the name. |

How about the Illuminauti Conspiracy? I suppose 100 people have thought of that one. I think maybe a little pyramid with an eye on a surf board for the logo. The Paladins is taken. A paladin is a person of high authority in medieval europe. It comes from the Latin palatine, which is also where we get the word palace. |
