I watch them at least once a year and must have seen most of them at least 20 times and they never get old. Some great music. I just rewatched Beach Party and it was great to see a young Dick Dale. For those of us who did not grow up in So Cal, this is probably the best exposure to that culture, although I'm sure it wasn't exactly like depicted on the screen, but it sure looked like a great time.
It is amazing, though the great musical talent that got screen time in these campy classics- the Pyramids, a very young Stevie Wonder- the list goes on. Seeing Dale still makes me a little misty eyed- I feel so fortunate to have seen him many times live.
I also love his version of Pipeline with SRV in Back to the Beach.
