I love all of my SurfyBear pedals and want to make sure I am not missing out on anything. I have a '63 RS Fender reverb unit that I love. I see that the Surfydrip Switch can be connected to it, but I am a little unclear as to what it does, it seems to be a mixer type control, but how would this be different than the mixer knob on the reverb unit? Thanks

The switch allows you to have two mix settings. So you would set the max drip level without the switch, and dial down for a drier settings with the switch.

It's best for rhythm guitarists that have to switch back and forth from playing chords to astronauts style drip.

I use the Surfy Drip to reduce the mix so that slapback echo is more clear when I play rockabilly-ish tunes and when using multi-echoes for Shadows tunes.

What range of mix levels are you guys using? I usually keep my Surfy Bear around 3 or 4.

It’s a great development. I love Surf reverb, but it’s not apropos for every song, so it comes in very handy to have a footswitch controllable way of backing down out of drip land. Or, as Mr. Snyder mentions, rhythm, even on Surf, can at times benefit from a lighter touch.

Thanks for the responses and it makes perfect sense. I agree things can get boring if your always running maximum drip.

Too much reverb can be worse than too little reverb. Everybody remembers Dick Dale’s sound on Miserlou, but he also did Summer Surf, which was very mellow.
