Permalink Reverb Junkies Revisited

New Topic

So, I got a new DVD player today (yes, they still make those), and to test it out I decided to run Reverb Junkies. What a great surf music movie! For those of you new to SG101, you really should pick up a copy of either the DVD or the digital download (there is a link at the bottom of this home page of SG101).

This movie gives an overview of the surf music scene circa 2012, not that long ago and full of incredible surf bands. It's primarily centered in Southern California (where else?), but does include bands from other areas as well. Believe me, this is a great way to get pumped up for the SG101 Surf Music Festival this summer, as we also await the DVD release of Sounds of the Surf. Check it out!

Patrick

I have probably watched that movie at least 15, if not 20 times over the years, and have recommended it many times to people who are new to the Surf Guitar 101 website.

There are a lot of people featured in it, who are still active on this forum; they would include, but not be limited to : Jeff Hanson (aka Big Tiki Dude), Lorenzo Valdambrini (aka Surfer Joe), Danny Snyder, Mel Waldorf, Ivan Pongracic, Dave Arnson, Jason Lee, Ferenc Dobronyi, and of course, Brian.

There are more faces I can recall, but unfortunately not all of the names to go with them. Patrick, thanks for the reminder. Good stuff…

-Cheers, Clark-

-Less Paul, more Reverb-

I need to watch it again

I just recently ordered it, but it hasn't arrived yet. Looking forward to it!
