I couldn't stay to the end (had to get home ... hit my driveway at 0540!) but the bands I saw were SO GOOD. Cha Cha Boom and Drip 2.0 had great classic surf vibes. I was completely blown away by Cupid's Nemesis - what a fantastic band! I hope they go far, they've got a good sound that is a blend of surf, garage rock, pop and more ... with great vocal harmonies and that gnarly Farfisa just sounded fantastic. I'm not sure the Farfisa player wanted to run his keys through a Peavey Classic 30, but the grit and edge that amp put on his sound really made my night! Inspired me to break out my Classic 50 when I got home

Hi Chiba, this is Dave from Cha Cha Boom. Was that you on Rickenbacker? What a beautiful guitar. I'm sorry I didn't get to introduce myself. I'm glad you enjoyed our set. That house Peavey worked out well, and I'm happy I didn't have to haul an amp.

It picked up around 7ish. The Vivisectors had to drop out at the last minute, so most of the bands including Drip 2.0 and us, Agent Octopus, got to play relaxed, extended sets. By the time we got started around 8:30ish, we had a pretty full room with dancing. Then a photographer showed up and the crowd returned to their seats, but were supportive and boisterous. A typical Otto's Saturday night crowd with a good mix of young to older patrons. Strange but Surf with Marbles Mahoney returning on the drums had a good size crowd for the room.
