I foresee an experiment, in my not too distant future. Poking around at the AllParts web site, and stumbled across this tremolo system. I have a perfect candidate, in a Squier Affinity Tele that I'd bought used, several years ago. It plays super great, and the timbre is there to warrant upgrading, but it suffers from "ice pick through the temple tinny," when playing in the high ranges. I had stumbled onto an article, at the Lindy Fralin web site, that the tone problem is likely due to 500K pots being used with Fender/Fender-style single coil pickups.

As I had bought this particular cheapie with the intent to personalize and upgrade, I figure I'll go with a Teletrem, as well. Haven't yet decided on what pickups, but I figure it'll be a very nice cheapie Tele, once I get proper 250K pots into it, a 5-way switch, the Teletrem and that the neck is "like butter" from the previous owner having dressed and leveled the frets.

I have a baritone Tele that I'm considering putting a VegaTrem into as well.

Looking forward to an update on your experience with the VegaTrem!
