I’ve been playing with my TC ELECTRONIC AMPWORX COMBO DELUXE 65 for a little over a week now and man it’s pretty amazing…!
I’m using it directly with headphones WITHOUT a traditional amp whatsoever and it works PERFECTLY for silent practice at home… Though you can still plug it into a speaker or amp to play with a band live…
The best part for me is the SPRING REVERB which is worth buying the unit for alone and using it as an effect pedal…In my opinion it’s probably one of the best Surf Style Reverb effects unit out there… It can definitely hold its own up against a Surfybear Classic(my favorite and the best Reverb unit out there!)
I’ll try to figure out how I can record a sound sample to properly demonstrate the Reverb in a classic Surf style and post it here in the future… Till then 60 Cycle Hum has a great video review on YouTube that prompted me to buy it…

If I'd known about this earlier, I could have put it on my Xmas list!

From Ryan’s video, it obviously drips and sounds like a decent platform for an inexpensive Surf rigm, not to mention a great practice rig, using headphones.
A 6G15, or a Surfy Bear, are the best answers, to be assured, but some of these pedals are getting pretty good at drip.

I initially thought I’d use it only for away from home and visiting family
But in all honesty I could 100% see using it for recording and performing… I don’t think anyone on planet earth could tell the difference between this unit and a real deal spring unit…

I picked one of these up about 4 months ago, with the same basic intentions as weird-o. I normally practice unplugged, but wanted to get more comfortable switching between (and tweaking) pedals in realtime for a new-ish project.
The Ampworx Combo Deluxe 65 seemed like a solid cab sim for playing through headphones (and it is!), but holy cow the reverb just blew me away. It's a sleeper reverb pedal for sure, and especially at the price point. It's not likely to take up permanent residence on the pedalboard, but as a standalone headphone practice rig it's pretty awesome.
The other application I'd like to experiment with, is using the cab sim/reverb for tracking directly into DAW. In addition to the reverb, it does a great job producing cranked/clean blackface tones.

I have to say, the sound on Ryan’s video was excellent. If I get the chance to play one, I definitely will.

Those Deluxe sounds are foundational to a lot of great music. Jeff Baxter apparently used Deluxes for a lot of his classic recordings.
