My old SurfyBear build finally bit the dust, so I'm looking at picking up a SurfyBear Metal 2.1 via the Thomann website.
I noticed that it ships with a European power adaptor and has a warning that "This item runs exclusively on an operating voltage of 230 V and therefore requires a voltage transformer to run in your country of United States."
Does anyone know if the packaged adaptor comes with a USA plug to switch out? Also, is 230V pretty standard? Will I need some kind of voltage transformer?
Definitely not an electrician here, so apologies for what might be a pretty simple/ridiculous set of questions!
Thanks & happy holidays!

The Surfybear runs on 12V, so you'd just need to find a substitute adapter that runs on 120V rather than 230 (with sufficient amp rating, of course). What kind of adapter did you use for your Surfybear build?

Ben, do you live in the US? If you do and order from Thomann, you become a European customer. In other words, Surfy Industries USA cannot offer you any support and if you need a repair or replacement, you will have to ship it to Thomann or Surfy Industries in Italy. Thomann puts up that message to discourage Americans from buying. The price seems less because in the EU, they add in a huge VAT tax, that brings the price up to the same price as retail is here. I import and pay considerable customs fees so that they can be available from both Surfy Industries USAc via the website and independent music stores in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Thanks for the responses, everyone! Spskins, I ended up going through the US Surfybear shop after all and picked up the SB Metal 2.1 using the holiday discount posted on the forums here. Like you suggested, I figured it'd be better to spend the money and get the support (not to mention the correct adaptor) if something went wrong.
I appreciate the advice!
