What can I say? Archtops rule! I noticed that he ended with that most famous of chords, an Em9 nat 7 voiced 0 10 9 8 7 X. That is one great voicing. —The artist formerly known as: Synchro When Surf Guitar is outlawed only outlaws will play Surf Guitar. Last edited: Nov 25, 2024 18:04:38 |

The topic got me looking at Vic Flicks’s guitar discussions about the Bond theme. I (for some reason) always thought it was a strat. Anyway, this makes more sense. I’m still wondering about why he had a rail humbucker in the strat when he sold it to the Pawn shop. I also came across this interview with Vic Flick that filled in some of the questions regarding his choice of guitars. Hopefully this shows up better. Last edited: Nov 25, 2024 13:18:34 |

A bunch of info here on his 1961 Strat: https://vintageelectric.com.au/vintage-guitar-file-1961-fender-stratocaster-vic-flick/ —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea Last edited: Nov 25, 2024 15:04:28 |

Apparently played on a Clifford Essex Paragon with a DeArmond floating pickup, plugged into an AC-15. Linked is a YouTube video of him playing the original Bond Theme. —The artist formerly known as: Synchro When Surf Guitar is outlawed only outlaws will play Surf Guitar. |

Thanks for sharing those direct links! I've been just happen to be working on my "spy surf medley" of which the backing rhythm is the James Bond theme. |

I am floored. Loving your choices and, well, I am a sucker of anything Carly Simon so hearing The Spy Who Loved Me made my day. Have you done any of this material in the studio? —Par Avion Spotify |

Thanks so much! We've played it live a lot, but have never recorded it. Both of my previous bands, Fronkensteen and They Never Came Back! used it as show closers. I'm slowly trying to get it into the mix with the new band, The Atomic Palms. Jay |

KAR120C, that's too bad. It was great. I would like to add it to my collection. As a non-facebooker, I don't have any options at this time. |
