I don't think the person is claiming to be Eddie. They just enjoy the band and created a myspace profile to share the love. |

It would be nice if the author of the page would put a disclaimer up there somewhere. Eddie ought to get on myspace, though. It is de rigueur nowadays for rock bands to have at least little page up there. — |

It would be important for him to be on myspace if he had merch, a tour schedule, or any new material in the past 40 years. I'd love it if he has any of the above as he is still an amazing player and 40 years away from the genre hasn't hurt his licks or intensity at all. |

It should say "fan site" or "tribute site" but if i was him i'd be stoked that someone thought enough of me and my music that they went to the trouble of creating a site. I agree it could be viewed as a fan tribute site but the site does not state that. It leads a reasonable person to think this is Eddie's site. If you doubt that, look at the comments of the people that linked to the page. They believed it was Eddies site. My understanding is that Eddie and The Showmen is what is known as Eddies "intellectual property" (any lawyers here?) and as such belongs to him. There have been several recent case decisions against cyber squatters who would grab domains & try to later sell them to the artist. Anyway, it's not Eddies site. |

that's what I was thinking. there's a million myspace profles of "celebrities" done as a tribute, and often it's clear it's not the person it self e.g. because he's dead, but this person even if done as a trib should at least have put a notice up as soon as he saw people posting comments directed to Eddie himself, cause the confusion is clear. if it's such an Eddie fan, this is just not cool imo. —Rules to live by #314: |

If they advertised it was a fan site then it'd probably get taken down by myspace as they really crack down on sites that have music that isn't owned by the profile creator. Personally I'd rather have Eddie's music out there, since it is very out of print, than to think that is a real profile. On a semi-related side-note... We've gotten several messages from people thinking we are The Verve who wrote the song Bittersweet in the 90s. I played along not wanting the person to feel embarassed so I thanked her for being such a fan. And I have a "fan" profile for David Koechner and I got a message from his co-star Jenna Fischer of the Office and we had a nice little correspondence about David. She thought I was David even though I did have the disclaimer that nobody managed to see ever. |

Jake, Eddies Squad car CD is still available through Amazon.com on a limited basis. It's great stuff. He can also be heard on several compilations. I highly recommend Squad Car. |
