Hey everyone. Im new to the forum, obviously. My fascination with surf music actually comes from a more historical place. Over the past couple years ive been mapping the history of Japanese pop music for some various projects, and its no secret that Japanese "pop" music of the 60s was highly inspired by western Surf music of the time.

Of course, ive been interested in Ventures, Link Wray, Blue Jeans, etc, for a while now.

Anyway, I started looking for some old Japanese films and they led me to this sight.

If anyone is curious, Ive been playing a 1966 Yamaha SG5-A for a while now. The original Japanese surf-rock guitar... which is why I need to find and watch Eleki No Wakadaisho.

Take care!

Welcome to the site!
Please feel free to post links for any of the bands or music you've stumbled onto as information on the Japanese music scene is kinda limited.

We're also going to need a pic of your guitar just because they're so cool!
