Here’s an update…

I needed to adjust the truss rod on my ‘60s Jazzmaster Lacquer, and while the neck was off, I decided to remove the shim, just because I like to experiment.

Curiously, I like the feel and tone of the guitar better without it! There is less choking when bending notes, and most interestingly, the treble is less strident and it’s warmer in tone.

I also sanded down the edge of the pivot plate inside the vibrato, and now the whammy action is smoother and it no longer makes a knocking sound.
