Hi everyone, I am trying to make a kind of spring reverb unit that, as it says in the title, does not use any of the components mentioned (something like the surfybear units), I will use a genuine reverb tank (I accept suggestions on which one to use), It will be something like the Fender units (in size) but I couldn't find nothing like I'm searching for, if anyone has information about pieces I can use for this proyect it will be appreciated.

Hello, Surf_fan63! You can use the scheme that is listed in the article at the link. The circuit is based on the popular TL074 operational amplifier - two TL072 in one package. I repeated this scheme on the breadboard, but I only have a small tank. I didn't like it very much by ear. A tank of the largest size can be used. Good luck!

Hi, thank you so much, I have a question, in average, how much did it cost you to do it? In the demos it sounded fantastic, at least for me

I didn't count the cost of the components, but I think it was 5-10 dollars in total. The tank cost me $15. I've been looking at various ads for used and new tanks. The middle tank, which I can easily buy, costs about $ 59. It is difficult to find a large size in my area(.

In the article, they specified a 8EB2C1B pan, so you could also go with a 4EB2C1B. Those are easy enough to get.

I did a search for 'Spring reverb DIY.' There's a bunch of YouTube videos that show some interesting approaches.

Nothing beats a real tube driven Accutronics style reverb AB763 circuit. You also need to have the bug style opto-isolator vibrato circuit to get the reverb to sound right, it s a combo effect. The old stuff is more "organic" as they say, it's the original deal and has that signature sound we so desire.
The surf sound came from these types of circuits as there was no solid state stuff back in the day when surf was born.
Get any of the brownface/blackface series of Fender tube amps that have built in reverb and vibrato, you will be spoiled for life.

I found such a project. The printed circuit board can be custom-made, and the appropriate files are available for this. It remains to assemble all the components yourself and solder them
