Update: Lowered price to $1950.

Up for sale is a black Silvertone (Harmony) 1446L from the early 1960's. All electronics work perfectly. No static, no dirty pot noises. Both humbuckers sound great. The bridge pickup is mirror-polished chrome and appears to be a brand new replacement. The neck pickup is 100% original with typical aging. Both sound sweet alone and together. Tone knobs work tremendously well from 0 to 10. Volume knobs have zero scratchiness. Amazing condition for a 60+ year guitar.

The previous owner kept it in a new hardshell case, inside his closet, for nearly two decades. It will need new strings and a quick setup to lower the action...although it's perfectly playable as-is. The Bigsby tremolo works perfectly, no issues. Frets look fresh and unused. This guitar was played very, very little.

It has a few minor scratches and a small rub spot on the backside (pictured.) Headstock has a Silvertone decal. Strap hooks and input jack are perfect. The original open gear tuners turn and work flawlessly. The bridge is 100% original, as well.

I can take more photos or even send a video of me playing it. Just let me know.

I'm asking $1950 and that includes free shipping anywhere in the USA. Double boxed and insured. I've got a 100% rating on both Reverb and Ebay.

That is a nice guitar, but infamous is not a good thing. Is there a story to go with that?

Perhaps "infamous" isn't quite the correct word. When people (mostly his fans or musicians) refer to this model as the "Chris Isaak guitar", it's because he played it on his first album. The video explains it well, along with a great demo.

These are MARVELOUS guitars. The necks are soooo comfortable and those pickups sound lovely.

I dearly regret selling the ’62 1446 that I bought for $400 20+ years ago.
