Your problem is if you buy it unseen and it needs repair, it'd be tough to find a good repair shop in Spain. Better you plan another trip out here and buy it in person. Or find someone who will check the amp out for you first and bring it to a tech for you before he/she ships it to you.

I've heard some good reports about Mike's Music but...that Showman has been for sale for a LONG time which means to me the price is too high. I would keep looking.

Yes your true..
l,ll go to try to find somebody that check it...
And in Spain i have the best ingenier..he is very good and only work with old amplifiers and guitars...
He knows surf amplifiers and reverb..with me...and at moment he can repair .....and he can copy too!!.
The second problem is that i,ll go to finish the second album in a few days (arround 2 weeks)and i haven,t a Showman here...and nobody with Showman...
y have to play with a Selmer amplifier and i like will finish with a original 60-65 Showman.
And sure will be a great album if I,ll record with this...
selmer and premier reverb...big surf album this my amplifier at the moment

Wouldn't availability of maintenance and parts be a big issue with any amp? Maybe a deciding one?

parts and Fedner tube amp specified mechanics are ALL over europe. no problem.
Longboard, consider that if you are buying form the US, you pay much shipping, + up to 1/3th over the entire amount (including shipping) in VAT and import taxes.
and after that you need to sub the power transformer or buy a step-up tranny.
blackface showmans, bassmans and bandmasters are on ebay germany on a regular basis for reasonable prices, blondes too. if all else fails check www.purpleguitars.com - and see if they ship.... I can go check something out there if you want, it's in the hague. but there must be plenty more stores like that, in spain too.

o yes i,m surrching in ebay...Usa to Spain ship..no too much..aprox 250 or 350 dls...
180 euros..cheap...
the transformer no problem..or aditional or....in Fender Spaion,,rebuild.
I rebuild other USA transformers..the Tanks reverb transformers...and is cheap too.and very good job
In the first shop that ypou put here..the Showman it cosat 300 euros..
too much expensive..in USA.300 dls..2180 euros And 180 to the ship....
2400 arround..more cheap than in Europa..
I was used Eiurpan Tank reverbs and sound bad....
i don,t belive in European sound...in Fender
I belive in Selmer..or Vox..european...not in Fender electronic components.
I prefer ship from USA...
I ,m surching...a good ofer..and a good Shoeman.

That's fine man, if you want american stuff. there's really no difference, but if it gives you the vibe you want go for it. Im a believer in vibe!!!!! dont miscalculate on the import taxes and VAT though, just so you know what you'll end up paying.
