Can anyone tell me how on earth the decay setting works on the compact? Without physically affecting the springs how does it change?! It's an awesome pedal that sounds really cool on both extremes of that setting but I'm just trying to understand it a little better.
Am I also right in understanding that the Dwell is essentially a gain for the reverb driver? So the harder you drive it the more chaotic and splashy it sounds? It seems alot more controlled & mellow sounding at lower settings. But I was sort of under the impression that on other units this would also be the only way of controlling the decay?
Thanks!

From surfyindustries.com:
HOW TO USE
Based on the controls of the original Fender® 6G15® we added a few more options.
DWELL
the amount of effect
MIXER 1 / 2
the balance between "dry" and "wet" signals
TONE
how bright or dark the sound is
DECAY
the length of the "reverb tail"
VOLUME
the level of the output signal
I urge everyone to check out our website. We try to have as much important information on it as possible. We also have a FAQ section!

Thanks for that, but I've already looked through all that! Just wondering from a technical standpoint how on earth it all worked, will check their forums too!

The Decay is a gate function. The more you turn ut up the longer the gate stays open, giving you a longer tail and conversely, the lower you have it, the quicker the gate closes.
To open the gate in the first place, it is activated by a signal from your guitar, anything from a pick scratch to a full strum.
Is that what you're after?
Anything above this, technically, and I will have to refer you to Bjorn.

Haha, nah that'll do! I've just been trying to work it out in my head and confused myself! Thant's very much appreciated I did think it sounded a little gatey but it's a cool effect! Can imagine it sounds the most sensible at lower settings when you don't have the dwell too high, but a cool sound where the echo of previous notes fades in and out when you have the springs driven harder. Not had much chance to mess with it too much since I got it but absolutely love it so far!
