Thanks Dave for the pics. It’s a fun show because of noise restrictions at the venue. We play small amps and keep the volume way down so it’s enjoyable for all. I used my G-Verb and G-Spring (pictured on right). On the left, Mike has a Kendrick reverb tank (very splashy) and uses my ‘68 drip edge Fender Princeton Amp. Alan, our bass player uses a Fender Rumble 100, and Gus a small DW kit with bamboo drum sticks. All in, we have a blast and the guests and fans have great food, beverages and conversations while we are playing.

Sorry I missed it, I had a b-day to go to in Burbank.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

It was a fun, relaxed show. The db level was perfect.

Nice... Would be great if there was some video.

I think sounds really good. Nice full sound, and excellent performance.

LittleKahunaCraig, nothing to be ashamed of, you guys sound amazing. Your tone is beautiful even at a low volume. Maybe I could learn a thing or two, as I get complaints about making everybody's ears bleed.

Sixstringsurfer, there is magic that happens when you crank up a fender amp, or fender style as in this Gomez G-verb. The general thinking is that to achieve the Dick Dale sound, it’s a combination of heavy strings, heavy picks, JBL speakers in heavy amps cranked. We’ve found that if you crank up a Fender Deluxe Reverb or Princeton, you can get so close and save your and the audience’s ears. Dario Gomez built the Gverb amp as a Princeton with a 15” speaker to get a surfy sound at lower volumes. This one has a Jensen C15N so it holds together nicely as I turn up the amp. It’s not a showman with a JBL, but we enjoy the vibe without the high volumes.

Thanks Craig,

Ski School was a special recording as it is all baritone guitar. We recorded it at an amazing studio with a world renowned producer (Hayward Parrott), who loves surf music. He’s produced/engineered Harry Belafonye, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Bryan Adams, Meatloaf, Chris de Burgh, Dalbello, Teenage Head, Liona Boyd, David Foster, and Urban Surf Kings lol…plus many more. It was a treat to work with him, as he really understood what we wanted and how to get it.
