Question about the Surfguitar101.com Members’ Jam.
I'm attending for the first time on Sunday the 30th of July and was wondering if anyone could explain exactly what this part of the event is.
What happens, who participates, et cetera?
Thanks!

Gary, I'm glad that you'll be attending the SG101 Festival. You will be blown away. The members jam is an opportunity for individual members (not bands) to play prearranged songs with other members. It's not really a "jam", which is typically a loose, improvised musical collaboration. This is structured, and worked out ahead of time. You sign up, here: https://surfguitar101.com/forums/topic/35891/ and make arrangements with other members to choose a song, and details like: what key, who plays rhythm, who plays lead, etc. Gellert, aka thefintastics, is coordinating the Jam, and will do his best to provide you a slot that fits your interests and needs. —Bob Last edited: Jun 04, 2023 04:36:50 |

Gary, It's been a few years since the last jam, and this is a new venue. I don't recall a lot of people carrying guitars around. Seems like most people stashed their guitars in the offstage area where the bands stowed their gear. I noticed that some people have borrowed instruments, from other participants, or bands playing the event. —Bob |
