Permalink GarageBand for IPad iOS no sound

Hey there…

I just recently learned you can use your iPad as a guitar amp using GarageBand

I got my guitar connected to my iPad and downloaded GarageBand and there is no sound at all, even though the level meter is showing movement when I strum the guitar.

any ideas why I can’t hear the guitar?

thanks!

Is this still the case when you hit "record"? You might want to look at "monitor" settings (I don't have much experience with GarageBand, but in Logic that is something you need to set up)

That’s a good question… I’ll check it out, thanks!

My guess would be you have a giget not turned on.

Every time you pull up the amp in garage band you have to turn on the monitor, the default seems to be off, I usually record listening through head phones, and plug in my electric using apogee jam, to play back with my guitar plugged into an amp, and then I use a separate Bluetooth speaker to play my banking track that I recorded on my iPad

I agree with 6guitars.
I had the hardest time getting sound through my headphones.
The program is good, but has a handful of quirks.

if I recorded more I would get the Logic Pro app.
