Hi all,
I uploaded a demo I wrote for the band I hope to put together soon - The TomorrowMen. Please comment.

That is a cool tune - what did you use to record it?

Butch, my recording setup is quite simple. Drum machine and bass direct, with bass going through a Sansamp bass driver, into my 8 track Tascam hard disk recorder ($300 can you believe it?) My Jag was plugged into my 63 Reissue reverb and then into my '66 Pro Reverb amp. I miked the amp with an SM57 which was fed into a mic preamp and then into the Tascam.
Fire away any more questions if you have any.

Very nice demo, Danny! This is the "Maelstrom" tune, right? You've improved since I heard your earlier demos in your Yahoo briefcase. You've got a nice recorded bass sound happening, too. You've got a bright future...and it's not in sales.

I'm replacing the demo Maelstrom with another one destined for The TomorrowMen - Chronosurf.
This was recorded within days of Maelstrom, with the same setup.
Hope you enjoy.

Great song Danny, your a talented writer.
You do need to ask one of your friends to play drums on your demos. Your programming is questionable.

So is my sanity. Thanks Stuart.

Hey Danny -- I loved it. You have that nice tough, clean tone. Great sounding 'verb and your tune (and licks) were great.
Yeah, canned drums are cheezy, but for demos, I use 'em too. I find getting a quick'n-dirty demo down with canned drums makes it all jump out a bit more for my guitarist and drummer when I give 'em a CD to learn the tune; but more importantly, it's the overall gestalt and vibe I hear in my head that I want to try to get them to hear.
Keep it up! I may upload one myself, if I can figure out what I'm doing...
