Permalink Harley Benton NEW Vintage JA-60cc Jazzmaster copy

New Topic

Harley Benton’s new line Vintage JA-60cc is super affordable at only 150 and a complete no brainer as a quality modding platform. Although, I will say it certainly holds its own straight outta the box…

Highly recommend

I’ve tested it and it’s really nice, no Jazzmaster sound at all but plays and sounds nice. I guess I’d buy it if it had a Jazzmaster tremolo at least.

So how does it sound? Are very tempted by this, if it sounds anything like P90's I just would slap a Bigsby style trem on it (by Guitar Fetish, they rock) and use it as my last song guitar and beat the crap out of it!

Due to the construction it sounds more like cheap Epiphone SG with P90)

Why not just buy the Guitar Fetish Jazzmaster instead? It already has a vibrato, Jazzmaster type pickups, and some positive reviews.

the middle position sounds best , it doesn’t sound like a classic JM , but I like the idea of it having its own unique sound so I may keep the pickups but change the electronics / hardware and see if that gives it more presence and clarity.

Definitely adding a trem , but I’m actually glad it doesn’t have the troublesome classic JM trem and all the headaches they cause lol
