A friend who is on the other team is still suffering from that trauma. Was always hilarious at band practice though, the one obsessed with pitch-perfect tuning was always the one furthest from tune. Me with my dated Jagmaster with a worn out tremolo and an older-model TU-2 with reduced precision? No issues. Him with a brand new RoboGibby?
I heard that they had to build several new insane asylums, just because of Min-E-Tune.

Don’t do it, Vasily … unless you really want to.

Spent some time this morning getting the new Squire Jaguar setup to match the Fender recent pickup mods.
Have to say the Squire is a really nice guitar! The Seymour Duncan PU are more modern sounding than the '62 Fender PU.
After matching the PU height, which did require new foam blocks to raise, the neck sounds closer to '62, but the bridge is a completely different animal and difficult to tame the high shrill. I need to roll back the tone to play that PU alone.
The rosewood finger board is very good and I dressed up the frets.
You can see however the quality shape of the back side of the neck is not nearly as good as the MIM surf green Jag.
The Olympic white and tortoise shell pick guard matching well with my new Ace reissue Jimi Hendrix strap perfectly!
Overall this Squire is the best cheapest guitar I have ever owned.
$199!!

Tqi are you specially taking about the stock Seymour Duncan on this Squire VM?
What about that other Seymour Duncan PU line called the Antiquity?

Great looking guitars you have there, congrats! Btw, are you sure that is rosewood on the Squier? Just curious as to how that is possible these days?

Yes the Squire Vintage Modified a used and discontinued guitar, made with rosewood fret board.
Fender has replaced this model with the Vintera series and now uses Pau Ferro wood for the fretboard.
To me it's just a visual difference of lighter vs darker wood.
But others may comment on tonal quality difference.

Vintera is not a replacement for the Squier Vintage Modified range. Squier Classic Vibe is, and those models have Indian Laurel fretboards.
Vintera 60s is a replacement for the Fender Laquer 60s range. Vintera guitars have Pau Ferro fretboard. Laquer 60s had Rosewood fretboards but were changed to Pau Ferro in the later production runs (before the range was discontinued).

Oops sorry you are right.
Classic Vibe was what I meant.
Not Vintera.
I am a rookie at the whole Jaguar thing.

So it’s arrived) Half an hour check:
- well made, do not see any obvious flaws
- nice setup from the box, provided by Musicstore.de
- pretty low action, enough for me
- stays more or less in tune after heavy tremolo use
-
sounds great, love these pickups. Nice Jaguar vibe.
-
dry fretboard, but I have some lemon oil
- frets scratching while bending strings - what is it? Needs polishing or what, never experienced this?

Wish mine came with one! But I swapped the 9's out for 10 flats anyway, so wouldn't have mattered!

Does yours rattle at all? As I mentioned before I swapped out the collet and arm for a Staytrem to make it quiet and keep the arm in position.
- sounds great, love these pickups. Nice Jaguar vibe.
They're the standout feature of the guitar. The overwound bridge can be a bit harsh but they sound great!
- dry fretboard, but I have some lemon oil
Expect the wood to get quite dark once it's fed.
- frets scratching while bending strings - what is it? Needs polishing or what, never experienced this?
Yes. Put masking tape on the fretboard wood and the pickups (to prevent metal filings getting into the coil) and use an abrasive fret rubber to polish them. Lots of places sell them and often cheaper, that's just an example.
"The frets need more finishing" is pretty much the universal complaint about the Indonesian classic vibes.
Also, please can we get a demo? I want to hear another competent player (unlike me) having some surf fun.
No rattle so far in bridge or tremolo, but we’ll see)
I am setting up my studio now and probably will be able to record something nearest days) but this microphone takes everything including fret scratching)))

Here is a short demo through Quilter Superblock US (65 mode) and SurfyBear Classic, no other processing. Jaguar is completely stock from the shop with stock 9s strings in it and unpolished frets)

Sounds great! Problem though - your amp is too damn good. ;)
You have the ultimate budget guitar, the ultimate budget reverb, but then you have a really fancy amp - you need a Rumble 100!
Jokes aside though, it sounds seriously good.
Yep, I think we need a demo through Fender Frontman 15!
