We knew it was coming but it still doesn’t prepare you for the heartache and tears. We had to say goodbye to our most wonderful friend, drummer and brother Mr. Billy Vits after his courageous battle with cancer. 20 years of laughs and stories that only being in a band of brothers you get to experience. He was one of a kind and we can’t express how great it was playing with him and being his friend. We’ll leave you with one of his favorite songs to play with us. We hope you’re the Midnight Cowboy tonight Billy!

Very sad. Concussions are a fantastic group and his drumming was absolutely a part of what made them stand out.

Brian - thank you for posting the sad news about Billy - I've been over in SE Asia the past few months with intermittent access to the internet so I wasn't able to post it here myself. Before he passed the Local Spins website had a great feature about Billy:

One of the things the band really wanted to do was release a career retrospective for The Concussions, and we were happy to have it done and in his hands to see and listen to shortly before he passed away. His drum work was phenomenal on all of the Concussions tracks and he'll be greatly missed!
