Permalink The Jungle Jag - Schwanky Squier VM Jag w/ Upgrades - SOLD

New Topic

I've decided to sell the "Jungle Jag" - A Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar in Olympic White that has some very excellent upgrades.

First and foremost is the pickguard! The previous owner cut the pickguard from Italian tortoiseshell - It's even cooler in person, and the switch tip is also fashioned out of tortoiseshell to match!

It also has been upgraded to an American Professional bridge, which makes all the difference on these. Better tone, better tuning, better playability. Just better.

The controls have been reconfigured with a CLR switch and a Tele-style switch plate, which is one of my favorite Jaguar mods. The rhythm circuit has also been disconnected but the components are all there in case you'd like to un-delete that and return it to stock.

Neck has been shimmed, and it's fitted with Tomastik-Infeld 11s Jazz flats for proper Jag flatwound style.

Last but not least, it's been professionally drilled for a vintage-style mute - I removed it, but I'll include the mute assembly if you want to swap it back on.

Setup, playability and tone are all great. As will all offsets, you may need to adjust setup to your preference. The pickguard is cut well, though it's a touch snug around the pickups so you have to use some finesse when raising or lowering pickups in case they bind. Cosmetically it's in good shape, as well, with some dings here and there from normal play. There is a small ding of about 1/8" in the middle of the back of the neck at about the 6th fret. Again, nothing that affects playability, but wanted to mention it for transparency's sake. I can provide more detailed pictures if requested.

Overall a great Jag at a great price. Only selling because I have a custom Jaguar I tend to reach for when doing the Jag thing and would like to free up some cash.

This this is awesome!! Threw a Mastery I had lying around. Put on .013 - .056 rounds and hot dawg, it plays great! The trem is a little clicky, but I bet if I smooth out that sharp corner of the fulcrum piece it’ll steady out. It also stopped clicking after I played it so maybe it’s a non-issue!

Thank you Ty!!

Nice! Love the Mastery addition. And jumping from 11s to 13s I could see the trem needing a bit of an adjustment, but sounds like it’s sorting out well. Enjoy!
