It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We kick off the holiday season with a review of The Tourmaliners’ “Surfin’ Christmas Carols” on Altered State of Reverb.

You and me both, BTD!
¡Feliz navidad from Mexico! Cherry and I have been having so much fun we forgot our latest video released Friday featuring one of the most fun and underrated bands around, The Volcanics, and their “Christmas Wassailing” ep.
I’m calling out Ryan Hagerty of PI records as the person you describe at the end of this great Satans Pilgrims album review. He came to surf music via metal and is now a big fan and contributor to our genre with his pi records YouTube channel…
Ryan?

Partially true Craig. The first rock n roll id ever heard was the ventures and dick dale when I was very young. I had uncles that played together in a surf band. So when I heard metal for the first time it remind me of Dixk. Especially thrash with the heavy Metting and tremolo picking. Also in 1988 Anthrax covered pipeline which brought me back to the ventures. My second favorite song of all the is the ventures version of blue moon. Second only to sleepwalk. So it was kinda always there but yeah. I didn’t get into modern surf until a few years back. Btw. I interviewed a band from Norway called Beach Bomb. They are black metal inspired surf music. But yes/no. Idk

One of my favorite videos we’ve done thus far; on a gorgeous day with a gorgeous lady and gorgeous album, The Huntington Cads’ “Introduce The New Sound”.
