One of the best bands I ever had the joy to play guitar in! And not only because of the nice two ladies! We even played some surf classics (Pipeline, Misirlou, etc)... And regular Aloha Fest visitors will recognize the location: Sounds Record Store, the best and biggest indie store in the NL! I think that from feb 1st your last shot has to be less than 6 month old. But 'they' the damn government can chance the rules all the time. Nothing is sure at the moment! We had a lock down shut down a couple of weeks ago, so every thing was GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO! The town even organised a 5 week festival to promote live music in bars and pubs. We were the first band to play (at Haloween_, man the place was so packed.... 2 weeks later, another lock down. Festival over.... We played 4 shows in just 2 weekends after the lockdown was ended and then it was over again. We even lost our rehearsal room, because it couldn't be rented after 17 hrs! Everything you organise is a big risk, I willing to take it for Aloha Fest 5 and we have a 20 year aniversary for the the band. And to be honest, I'm not taking the financial risk, the venue is.... But we always have lots of visitors from all over Europe, with flight tickets, hotel reservations, etc. If you have a good travel insurance, you should be fine! My (vaccinated) wife caught it from a visiting (vaccinated) friend who had just tested negative. They spent their time together outside only. This is serious stuff! Luckily she only had "normal" flu symptoms for a couple days and seems to have recovered fully, but it is no joke out there. Top

(My parents now have had covid twice despite being vaccinated and pretty careful, luckily without too severe symptoms, but I shudder when I think how it might have been, if they had not been vaccinated. The situation in Germany is not good at the moment, and it will probably get a little worse during the holidays.) I really wish I could go to Aloha Fest 5, was it was so much fun the last two times I went. But in addition to the pandemic I also have to wrap up a three year project in March, which besides finishing articles and writing reports will also include hosting a conference (which will in all likelyhood only happen online).
