I have been experimenting off & on for a few years with taking videos of rides on my sidecar outfits and posting them on YouTube to share with friends, family and the bike forums I participate in.

This was my first experiment with video taken by my son (who died 2 months later) using a low res camera just to see if we could and with music from YouTube's royalty free library

image

I can't find a way to place the videos between paragraphs so I'll do it by starting a new post.

I've tried a few more experiments since then but none with music and none very successful (mostly due to crappy cameras). This year I bought a knock off Go-Pro and started experimenting again. I made a mount for the bike I drive in the warm half of the year that works pretty well and a couple of weeks ago I went for a ride and the video below with music by Aaron & the Burrs was the result.

I will be working on a mount for the winter bike soon and I plan to make more videos in the future. If you folks like this sort of thing let me know and I'll post them here too.
BTW, Mods: If this isn't the right place to post this please move the thread to where it should be.

Thanks.
Here's my latest. Someone requested a long video and I had to run some errands so I took video of the drive there & back.

The Polar Bear Ride is a popular annual event among online motorcycle groups. The rules are usually something like spend an hour on the bike on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day, take a picture of the bike during the ride and post it on the group's forum, Facebook page &c.

Kay & I were self isolating after contact with someone who tested positive for Covid over New Year's so we postponed our ride until after that was over. Kay needed to pick something up at the church so we made that our destination this year. This video is edited down from the 90 minutes of video taken during our trip.

All songs used in my videos are credited onscreen at the beginning of the song and also in the video's description along with links to buy the music. (click the YouTube button below the scrollbar to view on Youtube's site).

BTW: I am always looking for more music to use in future videos so if anyone seeing this is interested in that please send me a PM.

A few weeks after last year's Polar Bear Ride one of the winter bike's exhaust baffles departed and in addition to making it harder to hear the stereo the engine vibration increased to the point where I could see the camera mount vibrating. I made a temporary fix to spare my neighbours' ears until I could do something more permanent but that ended taking ride videos for the rest of that bike's season (over the summer I replaced the entire exhaust system).
I only made one trip on the summer bike all season that was worth taking video and (due to a setting being changed on the camera) I still don't know if I'll be able to do anything with that.

But doing the Polar Bear Ride has been a tradition for us for many years so we couldn't miss that here's this year's ride video with music by the Urban Surf Kings

Nice to see a hack in action. I sold my rig last year because I no longer have a garage, and keeping it outdoors was causing it to deteriorate too quickly for me to be able to keep up with the maintenance. My wife really loved travelling in it!

Project: MAYHEM by Hypersonic Secret now available!

Finally another new video, this time just a short drive to try to see some of the fall leaves. Unfortunately, I was a bit too late and most of the leaves had already fallen.

This is a cool thread!

Nice vid’. I particularly like that first song. Mellow, but surfy as heck.

Bob, a great ride with great music. Thanks for sharing!
What was the outside temperature during your ride?

Patrick

It was a couple of degrees below freezing on the way and perhaps a degree above on the way back.
