The melody is surfy, especially with the rhythm uke jamming similar to surf rhythm guitarists. Then all of a sudden the lead girl starts tremolo picking perfectly with her thumbnail, (first appears at :26)!! Just wanted to share. Wonderful view of Diamond Head behind em too!

Well played and very effective technique. I would never have imagined such speed and articulation without a pick.

Jake Shimabukuro is the master of this genre. You may have heard his version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. His brothe Bruce covered Miserlou.

Glad you guys like it! A surf-styled cover of this song would be super cool...

Wow!......just Wow!
That was beyond impressive and they were having fun performing it! No shoe gazing with those two, that video was the highlight of my day.
Thanks for sending, Dan!

Dig some digging on those two. With that video being in 2013 that would put Honoka, the one of the left, around 15 and Azita, the one on the right, around 13. I've attached another video of them doing the same song 5 years later. They are no longer performing together; Azita is pursuing a career in medicine and Honoka continuing as a solo artist.

There is something very pure about their music. A while back, I was helping a youngster to learn bass, and I realized that even as a beginner on the instrument she played musically, as opposed to simply playing the notes. There was expression and emotion, even in the simplest of pieces.
I would say that the same holds true with these young ladies. They are playing their hearts out and delivering an emotionally satisfying performance. In this day of over-produced recordings, this is refreshing.
