Hey folks, it's an exciting weekend we have coming up. We will be making the loooong drive from The Rat Cave all the way up to Bellingham Washington. Friday night we will be playing at a club called Rogue Hero with Bellingham's own The All-Nighters. For those of you who aren't familiar, this is the one band that might be faster and more intense than The Lava Rats. Joining us will be Seattle's kings of trad The 'Verb.
Then, Saturday night we head down to Portland along with The 'Verb to meet up with our pals The Verbtones for a fun-filled night of surf music at The Green Room.
So, for all you folks up in the top left corner of the country, please come out and say hi. This will be our first time venturing out of the cozy confines of California, and we can't wait to show ya'll how us Bay Area kids do things.
Naturally, our new CD will be available at both shows, and report has it that The 'Verb's new disc just might be around too....
Get all the nitty-gritty at www.thelavarats.com/shows for addresses, prices, and showtimes.
See you there!

I'm really excited(stoked for your Californians) for the upcoming shows with the Lava Rats. We have three shows this weekend and could it be any better than have two shows with the Lava Rats?
I think trad nazis would be angered at you calling us trad.
The Rogue Hero is going to be a real great show. Bellingham shows are normally special due to the size of the city.

Definitely come and say hello to me. I'm the 'Verb with the short hair and the sunburst Jazzmaster and Burgundy Mist Jag.
I'll be wearing a scowl or smile, either way I'll be just as friendly.

Kyle - we are leaving Thursday evening probably between six and eight, then driving through the night, hoping to get into the Seattle/Bellingham area some time mid-day, in time for a wee nip and a wee nap before we hit the stage at Rogue Hero.
Jake - believe me, the excitement is mutual. I'm really glad you guys were able to join us up in Bellingham. Always remember, "trad" is in the eye of the beholder, but you'll always be tradder than we are.
JD - Make sure you say hi. I'll be the guy with the goatee and the greasy hair playing a Black Mosrite and drinking PBR (if at all possible).

Bill we should start a very trad surf band. We can play everything at mid-tempo and we would get to wear hawaiian shirts, shorts, and flip-flops.
We could totally name our surf band the Trad Reich. We'd be the ultimate trad nazis. Actually, forget the hawaiian shirts etc... We need to wear Hitler costumes. Actually, it would be even cooler to wear short sleeve and shorts versions of a hitler costume.

Well there certainly is a good supply of PBR up here. Maybe not so much after you guys come...
I'll be sure to introduce myself to you guys, see ya then!
(incidentally I'm off to the Poison concert in Portland. I'm not a fan, I'm just a member of the same motorcycle club that the drummer, Rikki Rockett, is in, so I have a backstage pass. It should be fun, but trust me, I'll enjoy you guys' show a LOT more!)

CC Deville was credited with 6 of the 100 worst guitar solos of all-time.
And I actually feel sorry for you that you have to see Poison. The band I'm into most right now is the complete opposite of Poison.

Wow... crazy. I could pull off the Nazi schtick so much better. My first idea for a surf band schtick was polite satanists. "We'd like to thanks our personal lord and savior, Lucifer"
You guys suck and are going to hell!
"sir, that isn't very Christian of you"
"Oh! I'm sorry did I bump you? I don't want to burn any bridges. I hope you are okay. Speaking of burning, I was burning a copy of the bible today and I saved a kitten that was stuck in a tree. What cute little tyke."

Yeah I'm sort of dragging my feet to go there, but seeing them will make me appreciate the good music even more...

One of our running tour jokes in the van was that we would one day start a fast food chain called "Burger Kaiser". The sign would be a giant rotating spiked helmet, with a red, white and black motif, Iron Crosses everywhere.

And of course, the signature meal would be the Shit Sandwich...
Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Trench foot would have to be a special sauce or something along those lines. The booths could be designed like trenches and the restaurant as a whole could be a bunker design. Of course you would need a fog machine that let off yellow or green gas every now and then.

So hey, I hear the Lava Rats are going to play in Bellingham and Portland this weekend.

Make sure and stop at the Everett Burger Kaiser location on your way! Try the Sauerbraten Burger on a kaiser roll and the schnitzel sticks!
Oh, and have a great time at the shows. I'm missing the NW right now.
