Happened around 5am this morning. Hacker changed my email address so I am unable to reset my password or receive a special code to access the account.
Facebook has a woefully awful Help system in regards to my situation. There seems to be no way of communicating with them about the specifics of what happened.
About an hour or so after the hack, Facebook sent me an email stating that my account was accessed and was asked to submit a photo ID. After doing so, the next response was,
Hi,
We can’t give you access to this account or help with your request until we receive an accepted form of ID that matches the information listed on the account. Learn more about the types of ID we accept in the Help Center: https://www.facebook.com/he...

Every email they have sent me has a no reply return email address so there seems to be no way of communicating to them.
At least they hid my account from FB until this gets resolved. How it gets resolved remains a mystery to me.

Yeah they totally screwed me out of my account that I set up for business purposes (Sound of the Surf). It's been over 4 years I cannot login but they still send me birthday notices for my contacts and other stupid notifications, constantly. Still under "review". Facebook is a frickin hack.

Never say never I guess. I decided to create a new FB account - I have too many family, friends from high school, college, navy days, co-workers, and good folks on here. Keeping in touch via Facebook works pretty well. I made sure this time to utilize the 2-Step Verification Code protection.
