I am currently stuck on The Nematoads album Five gun's west and the week long ear worm is the song “Deadwood”
I have searched these forums and there’s a couple of older threads with suggestions and a new one with a Spotify playlist.
I am not a Spotify user and prefer CD’s/vinyl and only downloads when the thats all the band puts out.
Any bands that predominately plat Spaghetti Surf or Spy surf album suggestions welcome.
Cheers all

I'd start with this. Still one of the best surf comps ever...

This old thread was pretty extensive. Of course there's been 10 years of additions to be made.

Danny thanks for the info!
I agree that the old thread was extensive but it drifted into actual Spaghetti western music ( which I like and have some nice compilations ) and ultimately only a dozen or so bands where mentioned. I like the idea of it being updated...lol
Ill take whatever info I can get then go looking for the music. For some reason I didn’t know about “For a few guitars more”

I highly recommend "El Camino De Los Muertos" by Reverend Hank (Mike Diabo of the Urban Surf Kings). Very authentic spaghetti western music, very well played.

I consider The Bambi Molesters "Sonic Bullets 13 From The Hip" to be their tribute album to Spaghetti Western music.

Really? why? Respect to your opinion, I'm really interested though.
I mean it's one of my favorite albums of all times, but I don't think it exhibits any of the classic Spaghetti Western motifs (besides the general, loose connection of Surf and Spaghetti by sound and 60's tropes.)
Some of their more 'atmospheric' stuff, surely I could see as a soundtrack to something, not necessarily including cowboy hats.

It's one of my favorite albums too. Of course for me that can be said of all their albums when it comes to the Bambi Molesters! I agree about it "sounding like a soundtrack to something". I'm not sure if that's the packaging and title(s) or if it was a conscious decision on the band's part to write it that way. Maybe all of the above. Then there are the outside musical collaborators. It all adds up in my opinion to an album which stands somewhat apart, yet still unmistakably them.
After the opening salvo "Theme From Slaying Beauty" things take a turn with the next four tracks in succession: Malaguena, Corazon Del Loco Jorge, Ice and Pinewood Trees, and Last Ride. The beauty of instrumental music is that we are free to associate our own visual imagery, and for me, these tracks in particular evoke dusty deserts a giant red setting sun with heat waves shimmering on the expanse of the endless horizon. Perhaps riding for days, sweaty and thirsty. Perhaps riding to the next town on a mission or escaping the enemies you made in the last one. I can definitely get a Man With No Name "For A Few Dollars More" vibe. It's the liberal use of the mariachi horns, hanging on that twangy low E, the guttural call and responses on Last Ride...the whistling, castanets, that sound that evokes a spinning colt revolver.
I have to believe they sequenced side one to create that mood. Regardless of how the rest of the album takes other turns into surf and spy, the tone is set for me and that's how I think of this album.
Do me a favor and watch this again 'til 4:10 when you hear the castanets. See if you don't agree that this scene and those elsewhere like it might be an inspiration.

I grooved on “ Sonic bullets 13 from the hip”, the Trabants track and the Reverend hank tracks.
Great input so far.
Can’t go wrong with movie clip posted as it has Lee Van Cleef in it, My favourite actor.

Got you, websurfer!
I fell it would be presumptuous to assign our thoughts to the artist, but wherever the material takes us is all up to us.
Guess I found it hard to make the connection because of the Bambis' overall Euro vibe, but OTH - It always amuses me, that one of the most recognized, deep rooted American themes has been brought to an ultimate expression by an Italian director and an Italian composer.
