Thanks Brian. You are too cool! I thought for a moment that I was losing my mind!

Have a great weekend!

No problem Tom. I suggest you just keep adding onto this thread instead of creating a new thread for each show. It's nice to have them all in one place. You can go back and re-edit the title on the thread if you want.

Storm Surge of Reverb: Surf & Instro Radio

Tsunami Soulman,

Nice integration of Euro in your shows. I can only hope you pick up your European albums in person. (Hey, we can have dreams?)
Seriously, Your show keeps getting better and better.

Caltrode

Hello! Below is my playlist for today's show. I'm on vacation and, consequently, away from my computer, but there's no way that I was going to not do my show. It's always the high point of my week. Thanks to everybody who listened! By the way, I'm trying to do a better job of maintaining the links on my Tsunami Soul pages to keep it useful. I especially want to provide links for all of the excellent surf shows! I just added a link for Storm Surge of Reverb (WESU 88.1 FM, Middletown, CT, Sundays 2:30 p.m. EST). Sorry that it took me so long! Hey Trode, Getting to Europe and elsewhere, not only to buy CDs, but also to see all of the great Euro, Finnish, Scandanavian, Russian, Italian, Slovenian, Spanish, Croatian, British, French, Swedish, Dutch, Mexican, Danish, German, etc., etc., etc. bands in person will remain my top priority! Until then, we'll have to be thankful that we at least have the CDs!

Thanks again,

Tom

Thanks for the link. When I get back on the air (less than a month now!) I'm planning on taking a vocal break to list all the surf shows I know of, you'll be in there too

Storm Surge of Reverb: Surf & Instro Radio

Hello! The WOBC emergency broadcasting something-or-other went out earlier this week. Consequently, we were not allowed to broadcast until it was replaced. This morning, Ian over at the station installed a new whatever it is that we needed; however, we have to wait until 2 p.m. for some lady to test the emergency broadcasts before we're allowed to broadcast our shows.

So, to make a long story longer, I just wanted to post something about why I'm not doing my show today (Aug. 24, 2007). As an enticement to listen next week, here are the songs that I had ready to play for today:

  1. The Coffin Daggers – Shark Attack

  13. The Bradipos IV – L’Inseguimento
  14. Jon & the Nighriders – Depth Charge 95
  15. Los Jets – Jezabel
  16. Gene Vincent & his Blue Caps – Lotta Lovin’
  17. Satan’s Pilgrims – Theme From The Arturan
  18. Little Bee – Escape From Surf-City

Next week begins our "interim programming," which is our between semesters schedule. I'm going to try to keep the same Friday, 12-2 EST schedule for the next few weeks. Then, when fall semester scheduling starts, I'll probably move back to my Thursday 6-8 p.m. slot.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

I'm still stunned from and in awe of that amazing show! Daikaiju was just incredible. So were Coffin Daggers and Madeira. What a great night! It was very inspiring. You mentioned that you're working on some new songs. I'm really looking forward to seeing this come to fruition! New Daikaiju songs! How exciting! I hope that happens soon. I also hope to see you again and talk with you some more.

Thanks!

Hi Tom!

Thanks! And let me add myself that it was great to see you and your friends again. Thanks for making the trek! (Sorry I didn't talk more after our set. Things are a bit of a blur around then... Lots happening!) What a wonderful night, though, both the Coffin Daggers and Daikaiju were awesome... Maybe I'll see you at the Nebulas/Ghastly Ones show in Pittsburgh in October?

Hi Ivan, it was great talking with you at the Hula Hop about the Shadows. You surprised me when you mentioned how the bass changes during the lead break to 'Man of Mystery.' Shows that you're a good listener in addition to being a great player! Yesterday, I got together with the guys that I've been playing with and, after a few tries, we sounded pretty good playing 'Man of Mystery.' For such a short song, a lot is happening! I spent all week learning the rhythm, lead and bass in that order. Yesterday, I played bass for this song and it sure was fun! The Shadows rule!

Yes, we'll definitely see you in Pittsburg on Oct. 6. My wife and I are planning on going to see Nebulas and Ghastly Ones. Can't wait.

By the way, I also enjoyed talking with you about Fenders and "wimpy" Mostrites (ha ha ... grrr)!

Tom
