Not sure if I ever posted this photo I took the first time seeing Slacktone in 2003. I had just met Sam at a music store in Ventura and we started talking surf music. After he told me he played in 2 surf bands, Slacktone and Dick Cale, he told about the upcoming Slacktone/Voodoo Court show in Goleta. I had already seen the Guitar Player piece about them. Not too many in attendance that night, most of the Santa Barbara shows I attended were sparsely populated. They knocked me out with their musicianship, music and passionate performance.
