I double checked and the ones I bought say Ainico 5. I will PM you a link.

I got my guitar back with the new Custom Shop '54's installed, and all I can say is "WOW!" What a huge difference between the '54's and the Texas Specials that were originally in the guitar. The '54's are much better suited for surf music. To be honest, they sound at their best, and I mean really have a gorgeous tone to them, when the reverb is turned down or even when the signal is completely dry. I am very pleased with these pickups. Thanks for all the advice and recommendations, everybody!

Thinking my 61 Strat would have more bottom end I re-wired a pair of spare pickups (9120 winds. w Darn Strat was way to muddy for my ears.

I unwound them, then rewound to 8200 which may equate to Fenders TS's, the ones in the SRV Strat. Still way to muddy.

Next dropped the winding down to 7200 which was maore than the 6800 that my stock 61 Strat has.

BTW, the winding machine was the exact one used by Fender in 1959. Fortunately I am friends with a guy that worked there for 30 plus years/
