I have been horribly remiss to make a proper post announcing the availability of Par Avion (Los Angeles) and Perro Agradecido's (Mexico)collaboration on vinyl! This is a 7" 33rpm 4 song EP resulting from a great jam we tracked in early March at the end of Par Avion's visit to Mexico. Many within the surf community have already responded in such a supportive and favorable way ... I am nervous to "name names" for fear of missing someone. At the end, it's about the music and I think everyone has been really stoked. A few highlights are the fact that our drummer for the trip was Dusty and on the night right before our recording session I had food poisoning aka "Montezuma's Revenge" and was dry heaving before and after our set. We were going to keep the set down to just a few songs but the adrenaline kicked in and we did the full set ... strangely, it was one of the most fun shows I have played in a long time. The club was like a multi-level CBGBs and they captured one of Par Avion's more rocking tunes on video. It's hard to tell that there's anything wrong until I briefly black out and fall on some amplifiers (I still feel bad about it). Here's the video: https://bit.ly/paravionatcapitangallo. BUT I digress, the recording the following day was great fun and the music is available here: http://bit.ly/perroavionvinyland for Mexico/Latin America, here: http://perroagradecido.bandcamp.com.

Now, last but not least, the spirit of surf music I still feel has great ties to the actual sport. Early December has been unusually good all over California with amazing moments at Mavericks, Blacks, Rincon, Big Rock, Ocean Beach (SF) ... everywhere. I feel that putting on one of the many videos and just letting it play as I contemplate my day has been huge medicine. You might agree. Please, do yourself a favor and go to YouTube and simply do a search like: Mavericks December 8, 2020 and you will not be disappointed! Here's a sample of Ocean Beach. Enjoy: Big Waves Nor Cal.

Take care everyone. These are weird and scary times ... It's so great to have a community like this.
Cheers,
Bernard
