Permalink Egnater Tweaker 112 Combo Amp Tube Suggestions

New Topic

I stumbled upon an Egnater Tweaker 112 Combo amp for a really good price so I grabbed it. It has 2 6V6 tubes and a 12 inch speaker and puts out 15 watts. The one I bought had the speaker swapped out for an Eminence Cannabis Rex. With the right settings and a Fender reverb tank (no built-in reverb), this thing can really surf.

It came with Groove Tube 6V6 tubes and I am thinking of doing some tube rolling. Egnater indicates you can also safely use 6L6 tubes. I have been reading that Tung Sol reissues have a vintage 6V6 sound and the JJ 6V6 sounds close to 6L6s.

Any suggestions for a vintage surf sound?

Thanks,
Ray

I have the Tweaker 15 head. For good cleans, I’d go with a set of Mullards. I use 6L6GC tubes normally.

I want to hear Caravan with a drum solo.
