Just saw these on ebay. Thought I'd mention them here. I am in no way affiliated with this seller.
2 Reissue Reverbs in nice looking shape for $350 each (buy it now) with $25 shipping. Not a bad deal...items numbers 330149467920 and 330149462228. Been watching these lately and this is about as low as it gets anymore. Just FYI for anyone looking.

I am gonna put my hand-wired Weber VST reverb unit up for sale on EBay. This is a very nice unit in a lacquered tweed case, all hand-wired, and very reliable. I have used it for two years without a problem. If anybody wants to contact me before I list it, please do so. I think its gonna go up with a reserve for $399 - and its much better than a reissue with the standard circuit board. Much better tone and better parts, plus hand-wired. Pics available.

Dario Gomez has hand wired reverb units. Top notch quality, they blow away any Fender RI. They are worth your considerations. As of for the 350 price on ebay, that is not that cheap, if you have your heart set on a fender you can beat that price.

I don't think that vintage is necessarily better than RI in the case of reverb tanks. There are some fantastic RI tanks. There are some crummy ones but nonetheless some great ones. I've heard some bad vintage tanks as well.
I'm certainly not going to pay $250-$500 more for a vintage tank.

The prices are all over the map for vintage units. I sold my blonde '64 w/cover a few week ago on eaby for $1475 to a fella in Germany + $150 ship + high import duty. I see black ones often around $600 +/- for a 60's unit which in my mind is a good deal considering the upgrades you may want to make to a reissue unit.

and the silverface units from the late 1960s-early 1970s are actually quite reasonable...when they pop up on the ebay...

I've got one of those 70's RIs and it's really quite a nice unit. Has an extra tube so it's not quite the original design but they get the job done. Mine ran about $400 a year ago. I use it as a backup since I found a real '62.

According to the Fender Amp Field Guide it uses a 12AT7 on the input, a 6V6 for the reverb driver, a 7025 for reverb recovery and another 7025 for the output.
