What is inspiring you right now from off the beaten path?

I’ll go first. Just discovered Lara Somogyi thanks to Pedal Crush.

You?

This pedal is beyond freaky.

I second that ! One of the best music I've heard in recent years.

This is great! Reminds me of 70s Turkish music, which along with 70s Thai and Indian are some of my favorite music period.

Like this guitar maniac!

Great stuff! They are Turkish, so great ear on that! I'm getting some of Arif Sag's music now, thanks for the recommendation!

The Exotic Guitar of Kahuna Kawentzmann

You can get the boy out of the Keynes era, but you can’t get the Keynes era out of the boy.

Got hip'd to Omar thanks to Ryan / "Ruhar" here IIRC some years ago but had never seen that footage before. That was fantastic! Thank you

This band has been sitting somewhere between my love of instro music and my wife's love of balkan music.

I'm not sure about influence but some traditional Chinese and Japanese musics are catching my ear lately. Ultra Twang!

They're Dutch actually, some of them with Turkish roots, but they do indeed play wonderful (music inspired by) Turkish psychedelic funk from the '70s.

I saw them late 2018. Didn't know them before that, but the description in the local venue's programme sounded interesting and the few songs I found online made me very curious. And the concert surely didn't disappoint; it was really great.

Cool! I saw The Wide Guyz twice, just over the border in Belgium. I really like their old school sound.

I can't wait to check more of these out. Here's another I've been listening to a lot: Mdou Moctar. On a side note, the drummer is amazing.

Wow the Mummies sure have changed their sound! I enjoyed this until the vocals started. Yeah man that drummer is a demon! Thanks for posting, this is pretty cool. And talk about costumes! Pretty odd to see full on desert-garb in a music studio.
