Permalink Reissue Reverb Tank Footswitch Issue

New Topic

I dug through a few old threads and saw a few similar issues but nothing nearly as extreme.

I've been gigging with the Reverb Unit and a Fender Twin and during the set I like to switch between reverbs depending on the songs. Outboard for surf classics and onboard for the Ventures style songs. Warming up before a recent gig I turned on the Reissue tank and nearly deafened the band and early audience. It introduced a very loud hiss that went away when I toggled it off. Leaving the reverb engaged but removing the footswitch also fixed the issue.

I thought it might be the footswitch's fault but trying out 2 different footswitches and different amps gave me the same result. That being said I think I have narrowed down to the Reverb Unit.

If anyone has any advice or tips I'd love to be able to use the footswitch again.

Cheers!

Were the other footswitches the exact same one? I replaced mine and had to get the exact one for it to work. The one that came with mine was noisy and I found a brand new one on Reverb and it fixed the issue.

I tested it with a brand new replacement and a generic single button switch.
Unfortunately they both had the same issue when the reverb was on.
