Hi - sorry to piggyback on this (oldish) thread, but first let me say - awesome guitar - I would imagine you considered a Strat style Trem? I'm planning a similar mod myself, and had thought about a Squier Affinity Strat Trem or similarly sized, with a shorter block, but was concerned about the body depth. Was this not possible to fit?

Even if you found a shallow one, that's a lot of routing when there are other options which are just as good or better than obviously inferior to the unassailably perfect design of the 6-screw strat trem but easier to install on a body not already cut to fit it.

Hi, thanks for your reply - I'm coming to the same conclusion as you (routing sufficiantly doesn't look possible) and your brother - I think a Stetsbar might be the way to go. I've heard nothing but good things about them, and could always take it off and re-sell so the price doesn't bother me. A final question if I may: Do you remember if you had to use a shim?

OP here, yes, we used the shim that came with the Stetsbar.

Thank you!

By the way, ordered this vibramute style, will try to keep u updated how the installation went. Will try to convert hardtail without the drilling Smile
