Age 90, natural causes. Sad to hear but now it's time for him to grab some chow and a beer with Tommy T.
RIP Hal and thanks for being here for a bit.

I just saw that notice, gee.

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

RIP Hal - wow played on 30,000 recordings

Mr. Hal Blaine you were a phenomenal drummer. May you rest in peace.

"It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea

He was at the foundation of so many great recordings. As I’ve learned more about The Wrecking Crew, one major takeaway is the magnitude of Hal Blaine’s contribution.

The artist formerly known as: Synchro

When Surf Guitar is outlawed only outlaws will play Surf Guitar.

Read his book: Hal Blaine and the Wrecking Crew", 3rd edition 2010.
There are lots of b/w fotos as well.
Who still knows that he was in Tommy Sands Band in 1957?
He drummed at the TAMI Show in October 1964 and supported live
Jan & Dean, Bruce & Terry (in Hawaii) and so many others!
(Tom Tourville talked to Terry Melcher who told him the story about
the Bruce & Terry band comprising of him, Bruce, Glen Campbell, Hal and Phil Sloan!I recommend highly to buy the book "Sun,Sand,Surf & Sidewalks" from 2013 with signatures and fotos on 94 pages!!)

Wrecking Crew alumni, Bill Pittman, 102 years old, died yesterday.

Per wiki:
The Danelectro guitar work for which Pitman became famous started when he saw the instrument at a music shop shortly after its introduction. His practicing caught the attention of Ernie Freeman who asked him to play the Dano on a recording date. The success of that session eventually led to his playing the Danelectro on Jack Nitzche's "The Lonely Surfer" and the Beach Boys album Pet Sounds.
