Yes Jeff nails it. Anyone who's seen Brad Paisley's stack of real spring tanks taking up a footprint where a Marshall half-stack might be would likely agree. They're not just setting it up for drip; but real spring reverb, or its well-done imitation, is a lush, 3-dimensional thing.
