Been trying to compose a new tune using a Baritone Guitar. But it's got me baffled. Maybe I dont have it tuned correctly?
Does any one know the mysteries of the baritone guitar?
Any hints, or tips?

You can tune them any number of ways. The most popular seems to be tuning them "down a fourth" or tuning them to B. For instance, if your low string is normally E, then tuning down a fourth goes 1 (E), 2 (D#), 3 (C#), 4 (B) So, you would tune that string to B and so on for each of the other strings. Once you're done, you'll come out with (lowest to highest) B, E, A, D, F#, B
Another trick to remembering, "down a fourth" is the same as "up a fifth" What's the 5 of E?...B
I like tuning to B because a lot of your open string tic tac stuff is still there where you're comfortable with it. Then you get the benefit of dropping down to get your B (5) pattern. So, basically, once you get it tuned up correctly, you'll have the same chord patterns available to you as you'd find in a normal guitar...just in a lower register.

you can also tune them in A
or all the way down to E for a BASS VI
sound.
