Permalink Danelectro 59 bridge replacement?

New Topic

Had a Danelectro 59 for a couple years, have not played it much so I dusted the case down to play (I need a guitar I can leave on the back patio to just pick up and play anytime). I like it, great neck, classic sound and look.

Went to change the strings . . . What a nightmare (I’ve been playing Fenders too long) those ‘rap around ‘ bridges are hard work when it comes to change strings. Looked everywhere on the net to buy a ‘straight through’ replacement bridge- no joy.

Anyone ever swapped out a bridge on these guitars?

These are available on Reverb.com
I designed this replacement about ten years ago for my own use.

Cheers,
Jeff

Do you make a bridge like this for Dano basses too?

Is yours the wooden bridge? I hung onto mine for a while before trying a short scale telecaster bridge. It's ok, not 100 percent convinced. A bit buzzy and zingy on the top strings. Better than before though. I'm in the UK so buying parts from the US is getting complex and costly. I bet Jeff's bridge's would do the trick, may go for one anyhoo

I thinks it’s a 2012 model dc59, the original bridge (pictured) works ok however it seems to change 1 string or all, the whole bridge has to taken out

Hey thanks for the suggestions

Wombat - Ah, I see you have the "Jimmy Page" DC59 version with the wrap around style bridge. The DRB2 won't be a direct replacement for that, unfortunately.

dannylectro - we've been hoping to make a replacement bass bridge available soon. Stay tuned.

Cheers,
Jeff
