Mind you, this will also be The Del-Lames "out of retirement" show too. They have been inactive for a while, since Sammy (the drummer) has been mighty busy with Johnny Bartlett and the rest of the Barbary Coasters.

Hope The Phantom Surfers play another show some other night, I'd like to see them, too, but I'll be at the Tiki Farm party like everyone else...
Maybe they can play at the Surfing Museum or the pier?

San,
first all of the surf museum shows and pier shows are filled up.
and I am assuming that the Phantom Surfers are not the type of band that wants to play for free, in the afternoon. But I could be wrong.

I can't wait to see The Del Lames again. I hosted them a few years back down here in LA at the Stagger Inn with The Khans, The Knights of the New Crusade, and Thee Fine Lines. It was a great show!
Regarding the Phantom Surfers playing another show... I don't think it will happen as it is physically impossible that weekend...

Sorry... there's too many other parties involved to move the show 3 weeks before it's supposed to happen - logistics are impossible.
The Phantom Surfers are playing last - so they should go on after midnight (if that helps).

Is this the same Real Boss Hoss that called Jake of The Bomboras a sea-hagg and trashed them over and over again in print? The same guy who said that The Ghastly ones were too boring to watch? Man I think your zine is pretty funny, but what did these guys do that makes you hate them so much?

Yeah - same zine. Believe it or not - it was only 1 issue and 200 copies at that...
We didn't/don't hate anyone - just opinions and observations that's all. Did anyone question Shane White when he made fun of every LA band in "Pure Filth?"
Gosh - that was over 7 years ago already that the zine came out.
The main writer and critic (Frank) of the Bomboras/LA scene moved away to Denver and now lives a very quiet suburban life with a son/wife/dog/cat. I was the "editor" and "artist" of Real Boss Hoss and without Frank and a couple of the other writers/critics - it wasn't quite the same so I decided to trash Issue 2 and kill it for good.
I still stand behind the statement that The Ghastly Ones are boring - at least I think so. Was that mentioned in the zine? I don't remember...

I won't dispute what you are saying. I recently saw The Ghasly Ones and I thought that they were pretty good but I doubt I'll see them very often. I thought they were sort of like if you mixed The Satans Pilgrims and The Bomboras together. I think they are very influenced by both bands. Its awesome to see that they are doing The Crusher With the same guy that did it in The Bomboras. That was my favorite part of The Bomboras show. Can't wait to see The Phantom Surfers again. Wish I could have seen them wen Bartlett and Ruane were in the band.

They were pretty good then, but I actually think they're a whole lot better without Johnny. They seem a bit more relaxed and looser (which I like). I think with Johnny in the band (it was more serious) and it didn't really let Mike go nuts and now it's a whole different ball game.
