Hi everyone,
Longtime lurker, newish member here. I want to introduce myself. My name is Jon. Live in Milwaukee. I am a founding member and bass player for the Exotics. Since we don't get to play much anymore I've started a new, primarily instrumental, combo called the Royal Kegstands. I also sing for a blackrock/rhythm and blues (50s greaser style) band called The Uptown Savages. I have only been playing guitar seriously for a couple of years so I enjoy the gear and technique chat.
thanks,
Jon

Hey Jon,
I love the Exotics! I'm so glad I got to see you guys live at Exotica 2 years ago!!!
Aren't you also in The Nelsonics? If so I saw you play with Los Straits in Iowa City one time!
We had Paul from the Exotics join the old Yahoo Group after Exotica.
Welcome!

Yes I was in the Nelsonics, but that band seems to have fizzled out. Don Nelson from the Nelsonics and the Exotics has a Ukulele band now called the Bikini Beachcombers. They will be at Exotica this year. The Exotics were asked to play too, but our lead guitarist, not Paul, weenied out. That is one of the main reasons that the Exotics aren't really playing out too much these days. Breaks my heart because I love playing with those guys.
thanks,
Jon

Hi Everyone,
I have to say this is the most awesome site I have ever been to!!! I have The Mighty Surf Lords,Reno,NV. So far, I have gotten in touch with all my old friends, and have met quite a few more.
What a valuable tool this site is!!!
I forsee a great summer ahead for the Lords, and it would not have been possible without this site. Thanks Brian, and all.
We will be available in August for shows, and look forward to meeting you all in person, and performing along with my favorites.

Brian,
The Exotics CD is out of print. We were going to make another batch, but the licensing costs would be out of hand for the covers on the disc. I actually wrote a bunch of tunes for a new CD, but it doesn't look like the Exotics will be recording too soon. They may end up on a Royal Kegstands CD though.
In any case if you are really interested in Go Go Guitars I might have a personal copy laying around that I could part with, I'd have to do some digging. Otherwise I could burn you a copy or if you know someone with a copy feel free to have them burn it. I wouldn't be mad about that.
thanks,
Jon
