Still have my Sony MD, and it still works fine. Recorded many live shows with it. |

My little one-man surf band dog and pony show uses minidiscs for my back-up tracks (recorded partly on a Yamaha MD-8 8-track MD recorder). My same master discs have been in service for over 15 years, without a single glitch. No so lucky with the decks, however, as the transports are notoriously hinky. When they fail, I just buy another used one off Ebay for cheap. I have acquired, however, three top-o-the-line premium Sony decks that appear to be bulletproof, including two rack-mount MDS-E11's. Anybody need one? |
